Retail Employees' Day
Retail Employees’ Day (RED) is a day that is exclusively dedicated to the backbone of the retail industry – its retail associates. RED was conceptualised in 2011 and is celebrated across India and the globe on the 12th of December every year.
Every December 12th, retail businesses around the world pause from their hectic schedules to honour the beating heart of the industry—the retail employee. RED is a global movement that began with two simple words: “Thank You” – A way to appreciate the year-long service and commitment of the retail employee towards their customers and their employers.
Retail is powered by millions of unsung heroes — the shopfloor associates who power every aisle, checkout counter and doorstep delivery.
Today, over 22 million employees in 33 countries are honored each year—from Selfridges in London to Choithrams in Dubai. While technology, tools, and trends to celebrate RED may change, its mission remains the same.
