In India, even with progress, fewer women work than men. Often, it’s for simple reasons. Not enough schooling. Few job openings. Old ways of thinking in society. This is exactly what TRRAIN’s livelihood program, TRRAINHer Ascent, aims to do. It started in 2018. TRRAINHer Ascent helps young women, often from tough backgrounds. We give them the skills they need to get good jobs in retail. It’s one of the best NGO programs for women’s empowerment that focuses on helping them find work directly.
Our program isn’t just about finding a job. It’s about building a career. We have a carefully planned training program. It focuses on two key things:
- Retail-Specific Skills: We teach everything needed to shine in a busy shop, from understanding customers to making sales.
- Life Skills: Beyond work, we help build confidence. We improve communication. We develop problem-solving abilities. These skills help them in all parts of life.
Here’s how the TRRAINHer Ascent program works:
- Mobilisation: We team up with schools, other NGOs, and training centers across India. We find young women who are ready to learn and grow.
- Training: Our program lasts 30-45 days. It gives full training. Plus, our students get certificates. These come from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Retailers Association Skill Council of India (RASCI). This adds strong proof of their skills.
- Recruitment: We work hard to place these talented women in jobs. We focus on welcoming all kinds of people. Our goal is simple: every graduate should earn at least Rs 10,000 per month. This helps them become truly financially free.
Through TRRAINHer Ascent, we are actively building a retail workforce. One that values all people and includes everyone. We are truly changing lives, one skill at a time.
