Look past the numbers and reports, and you’ll find what truly matters: a human story. A story of struggle, of courage, and of a dream that just wouldn’t quit. These stories are why TRRAIN exists. They are the true heartbeat of our mission.
We’ve always believed that helping one person can create ripples that lift an entire family. This is what drives us to create programs that don’t just teach skills, but unlock a person’s true potential and help them stand tall.
In our new monthly feature, “Faces of Change,” we want you to meet the incredible people at the very center of our work. These are the real-life change stories from TRRAIN that remind us why we do what we do. Today, we’re so proud to share the journeys of Rohit, Chukkala, Aftaab, and Athul: four amazing people who are writing their own futures.
Breaking Through the Difficulties: Rohit Patil’s Real Life Change Story From TRRAIN
Rohit Patil knows what it’s like to have life knock you down. A painful health condition, Ankylosing Spondylitis, left him bedridden for two long years. This put a stop to his education and his ambitions. Even after surgery, finding a good job felt like an impossible climb. But Rohit’s spirit was something special. He was absolutely determined to support his family.
Then, a friend told him about the TRRAIN Pankh Programme. It was the turning point he’d been waiting for. For 45 days, Rohit took the residential training, learning about computers, sharpening his English, and building the kind of confidence that comes from within. He wasn’t just getting ready for a job, he was trying to rebuild himself.
That hard work led him straight to an interview with Kotak Life Insurance, which he aced. Today, he’s a proud intern earning INR 20,000 a month. He helps with the bills at home and gives half of his earnings to his father. This is his small way of saying thank you.
“Don’t ever consider yourself weak,” Rohit says with conviction. “Resilience and determination are everything.”
Rising from Struggles: Chukkala Poshalu’s Inspiring Ascent
Growing up, Chukkala Poshalu’s small home in Hyderabad was filled with love, but also with worry. As one of seven, she watched her father work tirelessly as a security guard for a small monthly salary of INR 9,000. The struggle to make ends meet was a constant weight. Chukkala just wanted to help lift that burden.
Her search for a better way led her to the TRRAINHer Ascent Programme. At our Hyderabad center, she found she had a real knack for retail. More than that, she found her voice. The program helped her grow her skills, but the biggest change was the confidence that began to shine through.
Soon after, she had a job offer from Adhaan Solution Pvt. Ltd. with a monthly salary of INR 12,896. It was a turning point for her entire family. Their household income nearly doubled, that brought a sense of relief and pride that money can’t buy. This is what true empowering women through skill training and livelihood creation looks like.
“Be confident, and do what you love,” Chukkala shares, her words an inspiration for other young women.
Silent Struggles, Loud Achievements: Aftaab’s Tale of Perseverance
When Aftaab was born, his parents were overjoyed. But their joy turned to concern when they learned he had speech and hearing impairments. They met the challenge with incredible love, making sure he had the best education they could provide.
After 12th grade, Aftaab dreamed of continuing his studies, but he needed a job. The world outside school wasn’t as understanding. Door after door closed on him. Just as he was starting to lose hope, he met some mobilisers from the TRRAIN Pankh Programme. It was the spark he needed.
Aftaab gave the training his whole heart. He didn’t just learn new skills; he rediscovered his own worth. Soon, he landed a job at KFC in Noida, earning INR 14,000 a month. He was contributing, helping ease the financial load on his parents. The skill development for disabled youth like Aftaab is at the very heart of our mission.
With big plans for graduation and computer training, Aftaab’s journey shows us all that our challenges don’t get to write our final chapter.
From Quiet Determination to Triumph: Athul Krishna’s Journey
Athul Krishna, a young man from Kochi, always found school to be a challenge due to an intellectual disability. Then, tragedy struck when his father passed away, leaving his mother to carry the family’s burdens alone. Seeing his mother’s struggle, Athul felt a fire light inside him. He knew he had to help.
He found his chance when he heard about the TRRAIN Pankh Programme at his school. At first, Athul was quiet, keeping to himself. But the supportive environment helped him find his footing. He worked so hard that he was given the “Best Student Award” at graduation. A moment of pure pride for him and his family.
That dedication opened the door to a job as a Store Assistant at Abad Fisheries Pvt. Ltd. Today, Athul gives his entire salary to his mother to help run the house. His journey is one of the most powerful TRRAIN beneficiary stories we’ve had the joy to be a part of.
Social Impact Through TRRAIN: More Than a Job, It’s a New Beginning
Rohit, Chukkala, Aftaab, and Athul all started from different places, but their stories share a powerful theme: they just needed a chance. This is the social impact through TRRAIN.
Our programs teach skills, yes, but they offer something far more valuable:
- Dignity: The quiet pride of earning your own way.
- Confidence: The courage to walk into an interview and know you belong there.
- Hope: The ability to look at the future and see promise, not problems.
When we are successful in empowering lives through TRRAIN, the good work doesn’t stop with one person. It flows outward. It changes a family’s future.
